January’s Social night was a great evening. 36 people
were there with friends from Bletchley Club and other non-Lion friends.
We enjoyed a good meal followed by a talk and show from one of the
Volunteer Rangers from MK’s Parks Trust. He told us about the background
to the Trust and how it all fits into the MK environment.
We saw shots of MK from off the beaten track and animals we did not know
lived in MK. Dudley, the Ranger, then answered questions from us. We all
left feeling that the future of Mk is well set to retain its special

The twinning with Bünde began 32 years ago when our
Charter president Mike Wallis and Lion Gerry Hartgrove made the first
tentative visit to the small town of Bünde. Bünde was the home of the
German tobacco industry and has a fine Cigar Museum - until recently run
by one the the Club members.
there have been bi-annual visits to each country in late May. We
usually arrive on Friday evening and leave early on Monday morning with
a host of activities in between.
This year just 3 Milton Keynes (Stony Stratford)
Lions and their partners visited their counterparts with the widow of of
a late member. This visit was less formal than others with just
two official functions. Previous visits have involved dinner
jackets and posh frocks!
